Official Bootleg Series #17: “Is Your Nipple Hard?” Live at Stardust Video, 12/16/11

Every year on my birthday, I attempt to release something free for you, just to say thank you for liking what I do.

This year it’s an official bootleg featuring some highlights from the 2011 Marc With a C Holiday show, performed in front of a packed house at Stardust Video in Orlando, FL on 12/16/11.

Now, this isn’t the entire show, of course. We had some equipment issues that kept this gig from sounding as stellar as we’d hoped when setting up all of the recording stuff, and the initial plan was to take the three hour show and edit it all into a shorter live album that was somewhat indicative of an average Motherfuckers Be Bullshittin’ era gig – albeit with a few surprises.

Since the whole show was caught on tape, I’ve done just that here for you, but as the results were not as sonically pleasing as I’d hoped due to microphone malfunctions and a PA that was about to crap out at any second? I’ve edited this into an approximation of the live album I’d planned on making… only it’s marred by bootleggy sound quality. You can get an idea of what we were going for, and it’s still a lot of fun to listen to. Not to mention a funĀ souvenirĀ if you were there!

Oh, and its free to download on a limited-time basis until January 31st. Then it goes offline, and it’s up to you to spread it.

Here’s the tracklist!

01. Drunk Classic Rock Fans
02. Stairway To Rudolph
03. You’re My Princess
04. Motherfuckers Be Bullshittin’
05. Show Me How To Shine Shoes
06. Winter Colors
07. Holly Vincent
08. Love My Little Squiddy
09. Bed Intruder Song
10. Happy To Be Alive
11. Life’s So Hard
12. “Terrorthumping”

(Chris Zabriskie plays the drums on a few of these songs. Lando The Roadie shares a microphone with me during “Show Me How To Shine Shoes”.)

Download the full zip file right here and rock out, eh? (right-click, save-as, it’s yours).

Plus, Jeff Douglas took some great pictures of the show that you can see here, in case you wanna know at it looked like when we played these songs!

Let me know what you think. I hope you enjoy it!

Love on ya,
Marc

NOW AVAILABLE FOR DOWNLOAD: Official Bootleg Series #16: 9/23/11 (Pissing In The Wind At Natura)

Here’s a new official bootleg for you all to feast your, urm, ears… upon.

It was recorded in front of a small crowd in Orlando. The night was so rainy that I’m amazed anyone showed up at all. Plus, there was a ton of other stuff going on that evening, but despite the wrath-of-god weather going on just outside of the venue, we had a really good time.

NOW AVAILABLE FOR DOWNLOAD: Official Bootleg Series #15, 2010 Holiday Show, Set One, Orlando, FL

After much deliberation, I’m proud (and just a little bit sad) to bring you the fifteenth installment of the Marc With a C “Official Bootleg Series”. It was recorded on 12.11.10 at Stardust in Orlando, FL. Chris Zabriskie played drums during the show, and we did three sets that night. The first was the entirety of the Normal Bias album, the second was the entirety of the Bubblegum Romance album, and the third was an encore set that lasted well over an hour and consisted of pretty much nothing but audience requests.

Shock Treatment, Nerd Invasion… and a *new* free Official Bootleg for YOU!

Ah, October 2009: when the hearts of young boys and girls turns to that of making lists of the “best albums of the decade”. However, if your list doesn’t include Kirsty MacColl’s Tropical Brainstorm or Casper & The Cookie’s Modern Silence, I simply can’t take it seriously. No offense. (I’m looking at you, Pitchfork).

Official Bootleg Series 12: 2006 Holiday Show!

It had been such an incredibly long time since I’d given away an “Official Bootleg”, so I plundered the proverbial vaults to find a tasty morsel for you. Check this one out!

12/2006 Holiday Show, Austin!

One of the only recorded shows with both Chris Zabriskie and Ryan Price taking turns on the drum stool. Due to faulty wires, it took quite a bit to repair this show for you. Which is why it’s a bootleg, and not an official release, of course. Some songs were totally beyond restoration, but you’ve got twenty songs out of a two hour performance here. Not to mention all of the songs that rarely get performed nowadays…
