Hi everyone! Here’s some Marc With a C news:
1. Remember the old site I used to write for with Chris, Nicole, Emily and John? www.retrolowfi.com? Well, it’s still dead, but I’m still reviewing records. I’m doing it a bit differently this time around, but you can take part in the festivities by reading my newest writings at http://albumsilike.blogspot.com. Right now, I’ve set a goal of eventually covering 1000 albums that i enjoy, but if I make it all the way to that very round number, I doubt I’ll stop there. As many of you know, I can talk about good albums all day long. Every entry comes complete with a downloadable mixtape, to boot! In the first session, I cover artists like The Pixies, Robby Roadsteamer, Existential Hero, The Dead Milkmen, Yes, The Meat Puppets, Kool Keith, The Free Design, Pete Townshend and Napoleon XIV. Come along, read, comment!
2. I’ve been getting asked over and over: “Marc, will you be playing your traditional Halloween shows opening for the Rich Weirdoes production of Rocky Horror Picture Show?”. The answer is…: I still don’t know. I want to do it, but nothing has been confirmed. When I know, you’ll know. I promise.
3. Yes, I’m taking a bit of a break from live shows at the moment. I’ll still be announcing some upcoming shows very shortly… the hiatus will have an end date. Don’t fret.
4. My pal Chris Zabriskie is on the verge of putting out a new record called This Slient Bloody Night. It’s fabulous. Please go to www.chriszabriskie.com to hear some of it and get details on it’s release. It’s totally worth it.
5. Earlier this week, I did an interview on a neat little podcast called the “Super Drunken Colon Tour”. The whole thing was conducted over the phone, and I talked about Shock Treatment, Troma, the story behind “Dear Son”, and I drank some really cheap beer.
