Want to see some clips from the live DVD? Good, because most of our crisis has been averted!

Now’s the time on Sprockets when we say “thank you”.

Thank you for helping us receive more pre-orders than we even needed for the Linda Lovelace For President CD/DVD.

Thank you for all of the well-wishes concerning my legal issues. Things will hopefully be back to normal soon.

Thank you for just being really wonderful to me in general.

To show our appreciation, we’re going to leak you a few clips from the DVD. Now, don’t worry. The show itself is about 100 minutes long, and there’s a half hour of the most lo-fi bonus footage you’ve ever seen. These few tracks won’t spoil much of anything for you. I promise. Besides, haven’t you already earned it?

Here’s us midway through the show, playing “Stuck With Me”:

And here’s us working up a sweat during “No London In Brazil”:

And here’s a solo reading of “Life’s So Hard”, ending the main set, but preceding the 35 minute encore. Wave your cell phones, kiddies:

Are you excited about it now? Let us know!

Now, onto greener pastures: tonight, Friday, May 23rd, Chris Zabriskie will be doing a show at the AKA Lounge in downtown Orlando. God willing, I’ll be there playing some drums. I’m actually so sick right now that I didn’t get out of bed for about sixteen hours, and I can’t speak. But I can hit things, and that’s what I plan on doing unless I’m just absolutely useless that night. Pretty much any other plans I’ve got are 100% on hold right now. Besides the CD/DVD. We’ve now got that covered like Sara Lee on a cherry pie.

Oh, and we’ve got a confirmed date for the record release show. We’ll announce it as soon as we talk to a few other people that are involved. And we make sure that I’m physically able to do it.

But the ultimate point of this note? I can’t thank you enough. You are all wonderful, wonderful people.

Love on ya,
Marc

A major announcement from Marc. *IMPORTANT*

It pains me to have to write this less than 24 hours after we’ve announced a 07/01/08 release date for the Linda Lovelace For President CD/DVD. It also abhors me to do this in public. I’m left with very few options at this point, so I’ll try not to stall… I’ll just get to the point.

I am in legal trouble. Don’t worry though… I didn’t hurt anyone, I didn’t steal anything, no driving under the influence, nothing drug-related, nothing like that. I’ve had an ongoing battle with some folks that were out to get me, and they succeeded in making life very difficult. I did something relatively minor (something that would be akin to getting caught jaywalking twice) and really didn’t expect much to come of it. The good news is that I can likely fight the charges and fix most of the problems before I go to court. The bad news is that it’s going to cost me an arm, a leg and possibly a testicle. And all of the money earmarked to release my new album.

Now, on Wednesday night I’ll be picking up the final DVD edit and artwork for the package. If these last minute things hadn’t come up, we’d be sending it off for duplication by the end of the week. Financially… I’m now not in the position to release it for quite some time.

But here’s where you come in:

If we can get fifty of my loyal fans to pre-order the album at ten dollars a pop, we can likely still have it out on it’s release date. We’d be skirting it pretty close both monetarily and it’d all certainly go down at the eleventh hour. But, this is what it will take for us to make ends meet and get the album out as scheduled.

Just so you know what you’re getting for the money, here’s the specifics:
THE CD: Eleven new studio recordings, featuring “Jessica, I Heard You Like The Who”, “All My Drug Use Is Accidental”, “San Diego Doorways”, “I Tried To Die Young”, etc. Runs about forty minutes.
THE DVD: A 100-minute live show filmed in November of 2007. Contains over 25 songs with the definitive live renditions of “Life’s So Hard”, “Terror Song” and “Drunk Classic Rock Fans”. Don’t worry, you also get your “Nerdy Girls” and “Blowjob Queen” in there as well. There’s about a half an hour of bonus footage as well.
THE BONUS: If you purchase the album this way, not only will we ship it to you for free, but we’ll also include a bonus disc of rare Marc With a C material. Oodles of unreleased songs, alternate versions of tunes you already know, and even a live cut or two for good measure. These are really neat tracks that simply never found homes. (We’ll provide a tracklist to you personally if it’s contigent upon your preorder).

We’ll ship it to the duplication plant as soon as we meet our preorder quota, and then we’ll ship it to you as soon as we get the finished product back. If we are late in any way, we’ll keep you posted, and you can be assured that you’ll be getting exactly what you’re hoping for with Linda Lovelace For President, as well as the bonus disc. But we need *you* to help us put by pre-ordering it ASAP.

Please preorder by clicking this link:

If for some reason the PayPal link doesn’t work, you can also just send 10.00 US through PayPal to nicole_prezioso@hotmail.com with a note attached that you’re preordering the album… also, your address would be nice! Keep in mind that you don’t even need a PayPal account. Just a credit card or bank account.

So there you have it. I humbly ask of you to immediately preorder this album so we can have it out on the projected release date. Also, please repost this absolutely anywhere you see fit. Your LiveJournal, a MySpace bulletin, Facebook, make flyers… anything you have to do to get the word out.

Thank you all for your past, present and future support. And by the way… when all is said and done, we’re gonna throw you the most bitchin’ record release show ever. We’ve been discussing this thing behind-the scenes for the better part of a year. This is a setback, but it’s one we’re going to make the most out of. I thank you profusely for all of your help.

Love on ya,
Marc

PS: We’ll have some YouTube clips up from the DVD soon. Watch this space.

PPS: If you downloaded a leaked early copy of Linda Lovelace For President, this is the perfect time to clear your consience :)

PPPS: I understand that I’m being a bit vague about the legal issues. Once everything is cleared up, I’m more than happy to explain it in greater detail. Until then, please help me in keeping the rumors from getting too out of hand, eh?

“Linda Lovelace For President” CD/DVD trailer…

The first review of “Linda Lovelace For President” is in!

… and here’s an excerpt:

Marc With A C has a style, messy acoustic guitars with even messier drums and he does not stray too far from the formula here, but a more serious tone shift separates Linda Lovelace For President from its predecessors. Where Normal Bias took traditional rock music tales and deconstructed them to fit Marc’s outlook, here he is taking a more nuanced look at the musical landscape he dwells in.

There’s even an advance mp3 from the album! Writer Steven Ray Morris thinks that “I Tried To Die Young” is my best song! Wheee!

Release date soon.

A last minute show? It’s true!

This is a quick message to remind all of you swell folks that I’m doing a last minute show in Orlando on Tuesday night. It’d would be really neat if you would like to come out and watch Chris and I play these songs.

I’m not sure when we go on during the show, so you might as well get there early and enjoy it all:

TUESDAY, MARCH 13th @ BACK BOOTH, ORLANDO FL:
Marc With a C, The Courtneys, Patrick Scott Barnes + more
9 pm, $5, age limit?

Here’s some other things to look forward to:

1. We’ll be announcing a release date for the Linda Lovelace For President CD/DVD soon.

2. Chris Zabriskie is playing a show at AKA Lounge in Orlando on May 23rd. I’ll be backing him up on drums, and we’ll be playing with Swansinger, Rouge-FI and others.

3. I’m on a Lemonheads tribute album covering the song “Hannah & Gabi”.
It costs literally *one* dollar in English pounds, and you can get it from: http://evandando.co.uk/discography/squealingfansray.html

More news is coming soon, but for now, I’m gonna go and lie down for awhile. If you’re a mom, happy Mothers day. If you aren’t a mom… tell yours I said hi.

Love on ya,
Marc
