Owwww. Very, very sore.
Tonight, we did the show that will (we hope) be the main feature of a DVD we want to release next year, and listen… I’ve said this before, but I don’t know that I’ve ever meant it more than now: YOU GUYS WERE SERIOUSLY THE BEST CROWD EVER. I’m not kidding, just deafening singalongs, applause so loud that I couldn’t hear myself at all when I thanked you… unbelievable. I’m *so* glad that this was the show we captured. It was the most fun I’ve had doing a full show in some time, and I hope you guys liked it as well.. or will like it when you see the footage. Hell, I wanna see the footage, but that’s not really my department.
This is the point where I’d normally post the setlist, but why spoil the fun for those that haven’t seen the show yet? I can say that Logan Donahoo did the MC duties for the night, we played a bit more than 1/3 of “Normal Bias” and the rest was pretty well balanced. A bit from pretty much every record – no “Shock Treatment” stuff, but otherwise we hit on each album. Some requests were played in the encore, and all in all… probably played about 24 or 25 songs, depending on how you count. I think you’ll be pleased as punch.
But yes, great show. I’m the luckiest guy in the world:
- I have the best family in the history of the world.
- I recently released the best record I’ve ever made.
- Besides doing the Marc With a C stuff, I have the best day job in the world.
- My daughter is smarter than I am, and she’s just amazing, period. (Which should technically fall under what I said about family, but it’s worth pointing out again).
- I have the best bandmate in the world.
- Other than some tooth issues that sprung up the other night, I’m in good health.
- My pets are unbelievably cute, adorable and intelligent.
- My fiancee, Nicole, is the most beautiful and wonderful person I’ve ever met in my life.
- The people that like the songs that I make up treat me really wonderfully.
Everything is just really, really good right now. I’m glad we could arrange to catch even a small portion of what’s been a very good year for Marc on tape. And with that, I think I’m gonna go to sleep. I’ve expelled more than enough energy for one night… I deserve the rest, dammit
